Exploring Deceptive Techniques in Mobile Intelligent Autonomous Systems: Attacks and Defenses
Award-Winning Research on Cybersecurity Threats: This two-time award-winning research goes into the security challenges faced by autonomous systems like drones, unmanned vehicles, and self-driving cars. Also, it references defensive measures such as adversarial training and fortification of machine learning models ensuring these systems can resist and recover from attacks.

Login Chronicles: Cybersecurity Insights from Ernst & Young's 2024 UMD IC Analysis
Award-Winning Cybersecurity Project: This project goes into Ernst & Young's authentication logs to reveal critical security vulnerabilities. Combining C++ data structures with Excel analytics, the project identifies unusual login patterns and visualizes key security metrics.

Student Dropout Prediction with Support Vector Machines and Data Normalization Techniques
This study explores using Support Vector Machines (SVMs) to predict student dropout rates focusing on the impact of nine data normalization techniques. Using UC Irvine's dataset, it categorizes outcomes as dropout, enrolled, or graduated and applies methods like Min Max Scaler, Standard Scaler, and One Hot Encoder. The One Hot Encoder achieved the highest F1 score of 0.779, highlighting the importance of data preprocessing in improving machine learning accuracy for identifying at-risk students.

Machine Learning and Predictive Analysis for Donation Campaign Optimization
Collaborated with The River Food Pantry, Wisconsin’s busiest food pantry to develop machine learning models optimizing donation campaigns. Key contributions included feature engineering, SHAP analysis for feature importance, and the development of interactive dashboards to visualize trends and insights. This project empowered the organization to enhance its mission of serving over 2,500 people weekly through impactful donations.

Leon Tang's Portfolio Website
This site was developed using React.js using modular components and reusable hooks to create a dynamic user interface. I used CSS3 animations and AOS (Animate on Scroll) for smooth transitions and features like light/dark mode toggling using state management. The project is hosted on Vercel with a custom domain and used React lifecycle methods with interactive elements like project carousels, scroll-based animations, and responsive skill grids.

Support Vector Machine for Predicting Student Dropout Under Different Normalization Methods
“This paper uses Support Vector Machines (SVMs) to predict student dropout, comparing 9 data normalization methods (e.g., Min Max Scaler, One Hot Encoder). Results show normalization significantly boosts accuracy, with One Hot Encoder achieving the best average F1 score of 0.779—highlighting the importance of proper data preprocessing in identifying at-risk students.”
